SEGNAVIE RUN - 01/07/2023 - TUSCANY MOUNTIANS

For this second edition, in addition to the already much appreciated short trail of 14 km and 700 D+, which can also be tackled as a non-competitive trek, a new distance of 25 km and 1200 D+ is foreseen on paths recently restored thanks to the work of various associations of local volunteers.

THE ROUTES
The departure is scheduled from the suspended bridge of Mammiano Basso, site of the Festival village.
Almost immediately after the start and two distances are divided.
The 14K continues along the Lima stream, overlooking the Popiglio Towers and the ancient Castruccio Castracani Bridge, dating back to the 13th century.
From here the ride continues inside green chestnut groves, skirting the very small hamlet of Lolle, that of Piteglio and the luxuriant Dynamo Oasis with the "Case Luigi" visitor center, before crossing the splendid Borgo Migliorini.
After a last total immersion among the trees, of about 3 km, you pass the center of San Marcello Pistoiese to return towards the Suspension Bridge.

The 25K Trail, identical in the last stretch to the 14K one, instead explores, in the first 10 Km, a less known but no less interesting area: going up the stream, it meets the small hamlet of "La Lima", that of Ponte di Firenzuola, the village of Lizzano, the ruins of the ancient Castel di Mura, to return, even through a small and suggestive canyon, along the fascinating route of the ancient ironworks dating back to the fourteenth century.
