A long and fascinating hike that follows the ridge, starting in the heart of the splendid Teso Forest, among majestic tall beech trees, and then opening onto vast meadows and spectacular grassy crests.
After skirting Mount Gennaio, a steep climb leads to the high Strofinatoio Pass, from which you reach the summit of Corno alle Scale. Corno alle Scale is a mountain 1945m above sea level, which takes its name from the shape of its northern face, which is made up of a series of rocky crags, called “I Balzi dell’Ora”, which resemble the shape of a horn. Punta Sofia is the most famous of the three peaks of the mountain because of its 15m high metal cross that can be seen even from the Po Valley.
Medium difficulty trek, starting near Casetta Pulledrari and arriving at Punta Sofia, in the Corno alle Scale area. Lunch is planned once you reach the summit and return along the same path you took on the way there.
