ADVENTURE ALPINE NIGHT FOR NEPAL

ADVENTURE APLINE NIGHT for NEPAL will be an event on the recent achievements of some great mountaineers.

 

MATTEO DELLA BORDELLA: The Greenland Adventure

The alpine night will start form the magic images of Greenland brought to us by a young and talented alpinsit and climber. 

His achievements were so amazing to take his to nomination for the Piolet D’Or 2015 and win the Grignetta D’Oro awards: he is Matteo Della Bordella, one of the great Italian mountaineers. His intervention will focus on the first ascent of the northeast face of the Shark's Tooth. A peak he achieved with Christian Ledergerber and Silvan Schüpbach.

STEVE HOUSE:  The New Alpinism

Steve House is certainly one of the most respected and followed in the world. He is one of the theorists of the so called new-alpinism which wishes to reduce external help and to privilege lightness and speed while moving in the mountains. It’s an approach that requires a lot of dedication and a lot of technical abilities to be pursued.

He is the Author of the book "Training for the New Alpinism" and during the event he will be dealing with a very qualified and atypical discussant: Maurizio Fava, Full Professor of Psychiatry at the Harvard University, who will led us to the discovery of Steve’s alpinism vision, his attitude toward sports, mountains and nature.


ADVENTURE ALPINE NIGHT for Nepal cannot forget the terrible earthquake that shook the region last April the 25th.

Giampaolo Corona, which was at the base camp during the events, and actively participated in rescue missions like the one for Oskar Piazza.

Giampaolo will tell us about his attitude and feelings during those days. He will describe his will to help the local population and how he is working to keep the attention high on the need for help.

Very special guest will be Mira Rai, Nepalese Trail Running champion, who is actively involved with the aids on the ground.

 

The ADVENTURE ALPINE NIGHT will be free, but a donation for an Onlus helping in Nepal will be highly appreciated.
